THE GOLD PROP PLAN · PRIVATE · STARTS JANUARY 2027
One firm: Hola Prime. One strategy: B2.
The committed plan is deliberately small: buy one Hola Prime 2-Step challenge in January 2027, trade the mechanical B2 Breakout rules on it, pass it, get funded — then withdraw only the profit above ~$210,000 and bank the tax habit from the first payout. Nothing else is bought. Multi-firm and multi-owner versions were explored and modelled — they live on the Models page, clearly labelled as scenarios, and they are not the plan.
Modelled on the 2-year backtest window (Nov 2024 – Oct 2026) with Hola's own rules, at the old 0.5% trade size — the adopted 0.3–0.4% size is being priced. The workings are on Models. Content snapshot: October 31, 2026.
Correction — October 31, 2026. The backtest figures first published on this site came from a run whose trend check used each day's closing price before that close had actually finalized — up to ~17 hours early. Caught, fixed, and re-run the same day: a daily close now counts only after it is final. Every backtest-derived figure on this site is the corrected one (476 trades, +31.93%, final balance $263,858.35). The original figures (+53.66%, $307,314.55) are withdrawn — do not use them.
The path, step by step
- Decide — Jan 2, 2027. The decision point reviews the paper sims' full record and Hola's then-current price before anything is bought. Go / no-go is Jay's call (see the Checklist).
- Buy the challenge. Hola Prime 2-Step Prime, $200,000 — $647.40 at the October 2026 promo, $1,079 at list. Jay buys it himself. This fee is the plan's entire cash risk.
- Pass Phase 1, then Phase 2. Trade B2 (the Rulebook) on the challenge account at the adopted size — risk 0.3–0.4% of the balance per trade: +8%, then a fresh +5% — each phase starts again at $200,000, and Phase 1 profit does not carry over. Modelled pass time: up to ~327 days; there is no payout during the challenge.
- Get funded at $200,000. The funded account starts fresh. The balance is the firm's money — only profit above $200,000 can ever be withdrawn, and only on Hola's 14-day payout cycles with their profitable-days gate (see Firms).
- Withdraw by the rule — skim only above ~$210,000. Below.
- Bank the tax habit from payout #1. ~30% of every payout into a separate pot the day it lands (see the tax notes on Models).
- Learn the trades yourself. Jay places every trade on his own account. The Learn page teaches the hourly routine in plain language, with practice through November–December so January feels routine.
The withdrawal rule SKIM ABOVE ~$210K
Adopted by Jay on October 31, 2026, as part of the safest setup that followed his 5-year test (see Models). It replaces the 75% ratchet set earlier the same day.
Profit above ~$210,000 only. The cushion stays.
- Profit piles up inside the funded account. Only profit above the $200,000 starting size can ever be withdrawn — and under this rule, only the part of the balance above ~$210,000 is skimmed. The first ~$10,000 of profit is never touched.
- The cushion is the point: with withdrawals taken only above ~$210,000, the balance after any withdrawal still sits about $26,000 above Hola's $184,000 fail floor. The 5-year evidence says the floor — not the daily cap — is what kills accounts; this rule keeps a permanent gap from it.
- At each payout opportunity (Hola's 14-day cycles, subject to their profitable-days gate), skim the balance above ~$210,000 — no more. If the balance is at or below ~$210,000, nothing comes out that cycle.
- Split: of what comes out, Jay receives 80% and Hola keeps 20% — paid on Hola's payout clock.
- What it replaced: earlier the same day the rule was a 75% ratchet (take 75% of each $2,500 profit pile, leave 25% in). The 5-year evidence showed losing streaks of 13–23 trades; a pile-by-pile skim can drain the account back toward the floor just before a streak arrives. The four-way comparison that first informed the 75% choice was also run on the flawed, pre-correction backtest; its dollar figures are withdrawn — see Models.
Read this before believing any number here
The honest limits. Every modelled figure on this site comes from a 2-year backtest window (Nov 15, 2024 – Oct 28, 2026) of hourly gold prices. Free sources would not give hourly data older than November 2024, so in Ren's own testing 2022–2024 — including the choppy 2022–2023 stretch — is untested. A backtest is evidence, not a guarantee: the strategy won only 28.6% of its trades (corrected run) and lived on a 3-to-1 target, and two friendlier years are not proof it survives every kind of market. Money in the models arrives in bursts — losing months and $0-payout months are normal even in the winning runs; budget on the low case, never on the average. And the plan has a built-in check: two paper sims are running now (see Record), and their record is what the Jan 2, 2027 decision point judges. If the paper record breaks, the honest move is not to buy.
The 5-year evidence changes the risk picture. Jay ran his own 5-year test (2022–2026 hourly gold, his own data and engine — data Ren's sources could not supply; Ren has not independently verified it; full table on Models). On the fixed, no-lookahead version: 2022 −8.6% and 2023 −16.2% — in those years every monthly challenge start failed Phase 1, and an account traded continuously broke Hola's $184,000 floor. The 4% daily cap was never broken in 5 years; the binding constraint is the 8% overall floor. The largest peak-to-trough drop was ~33–38%, and the money was made in the 2024–25 trend. His conclusion: "On this evidence, B2 at 0.5% risk would likely lose a Hola Prime account at some point — the January decision is now about risk size and floor choice, not just start date."
Adopted Oct 31, 2026 — the safest setup is the plan: following the 5-year evidence above, Jay adopted his "safest setup" the same day: risk 0.3–0.4% per trade (down from 0.5%), withdrawals only from the balance above ~$210,000 (replacing the 75% ratchet), and a wait of at least 10 minutes before re-entering in the same direction (Hola groups trades opened within 10 minutes in the same direction as one trade, with combined risk capped at 2%). The plan above is written on these parameters (full section beside the 5-year evidence on Models). The modelled figures on this site were computed at the old 0.5% size and are labelled with that basis; the adopted size is being priced.
